Elven Circus seeks long bamboo poles!

Hello!

We are the Elvolutionaries... a performing arts and sustainable crafts collective, traveling the northwest in our vegi-oil buses... utilizing recycled and sustainably grown materials to entertain and educate..
we are seeking large bambo poles to support our vending tent... 22'-25' in length... they need to be strong enough to support a heavy canvas shell, but not too heavy (we need to be able to raise the structure with 3 people)

any advise of info would be greatly appreciated!

Chinese bamboo

Just wanna share with you what bamboo means in Chinese culture. Bamboo is one of the four favorite plants in Chinese culture and it appears a lot in Chinese paintings. Also it is a symbol of HONOR in Chines culture. I like it.

natually I have my own crop of bamboo as well .... there is some magic...maricle about it... some soul food for my spirit. I will look to post some pictures soon.

making a bamboo trellis, teepee style

Hi. I'm a new member and today i'm out in the garden trying to make a pea trellis of some kind. I have 9, 10 foot long pieces of 1 1/2 " diameter bamboo I harvested. I've tied the tops together in a bunch with twine and am spreading out the ends... wondering if there is a better way? I'll try and figure out how to post a picture..

Ninja/Bamboo Quilt

Hi Everybody - My husband is wanting me to make him a ninja quilt. I'm hoping to find a pattern that that that looks like some ninjas fighting amongst bamboo.
Does anyone know link to, or a book, that would have a ninja pattern, or bamboo pattern in it? I figured the Bamboo tribe would be a good place to start.

HELP...Need 4'-12' lengths of bamboo for an amazing art project!

We are creating an amazing project for Burning Man
this year...an
instillation called MINDWEAVE...

It will be a state eliciting space designed to
induce peaceful
awareness...email if you want details or want to get
involved!

The reason I am writing this is that I need to
gather a large amount of
flexible bamboo, willow, and other such organic
materials between 4-12 feet
in length to create the space by weaving a twelve
foot dome! I am aware
that bamboo some times goes wild and needs to be
cleared so if you have any
or know someone that does, PLEASE let me know....I
need about 500-1000
pieces!!

Philadelphia Bamboo

Anyone in the Philly area that needs some bamboo should note that there is several miles of it growing along the river near 23rd and South --> Walnut.

About 20-30 foot tall, 2" diameter. Believe its on railroad property.

Aspenhopper, you're a devious one! Setting up a bamboo tribe and linking it to me without notification... Does this mean I have to DO something about "Bamboo Lovers" now?

Oh well-- it's probably a good idea after all. Not that I have lots of time to take on more online tasks, but we'll see what can be done-- I'll instruct a few staff members here at the Complex to brainstorm ideas for Bamboo Lovers.
